Network Technician
COMPANY: ITG Networks
STATUS: Full Time, Salary
JOB SUMMARY: Technician is responsible for the activation of ITG Networks products at customer premises. The Technician is also responsible for troubleshooting service problems at the customer premise, to include fielding customer trouble calls, correction of common line faults, identification of distribution problems, and escalation of problem for corrective action, when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*

Plans installations by studying design plans, layouts, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site.

Installs and troubleshoots customer premise equipment and service including: racks, switches, routers, servers, jacks (RJ11/RJ45/RJ21) , Wireless Access Points, and PBX systems ensuring IP or voice connectivity, where applicable. Out-of-town travel is required, and may be extensive at times.

Maintains accurate/current knowledge of all, services, products, pricing, packages and promotions offered by the Company and applies preventative maintenance procedures to prevent future failure.

Makes periodic checks of system performance as prescribed by authorized administrative personnel (quality control checks.)

Fields customer troubleshooting calls, including “on call” for after-hours customer issues insuring the customer is receiving the highest quality product performance.

Troubleshoots and effectively differentiates Company supported components vs. customer equipment and corrects all existing and potential problems.
